Vehicle-2-X Communication

0432 L 780, Lecture course, 3 CP, 2 SWS, DCAITI VAF

Dr. Ilja Radusch

Description

We teach the basics of networked and automated mobility. The networking and automation of vehicles and travelers promises to make traffic safer and more efficient in the future. Connected mobility applications address all travelers and especially cyclists and pedestrians.

The applications, vehicle functions, etc. are presented and evaluated and then the necessary communication technologies for communication between the vehicles – as well as with the road infrastructure – are presented.

Based on fast direct communication – such as ITS-G5 and LTE-V2X – or infrastructure-supported communication such as 5G new cooperative driving maneuvers such as automated convoy driving can be implemented for the first time.

In addition, secure data transmission is important for the recording and evaluation of traffic-related events, but also for new tasks such as updating HD maps, which form the basis for automated driving.

Finally, we look at how applications and results can be validated and evaluated using real and virtual testing.

The lecture may be supplemented by a series of guest lectures from industry and science.

Grading key

The evaluation of this courses exam items is done in examination points (EP). Your achieved examination points will be automatically converted into portfolio points (PP) later, according to the module in which this course is included. The total sum of all your portfolio points in the module will then determine your overall module grade. The provided grading scale serves only as a guideline. There will be no separate grade determined for this course.
